Learning Math Together

Tech-Free Teaching

Attention is the new luxury. As computers, devices, and AI begin to take over every facet of work and leisure time, it is important for students to be able to think for themselves and express themselves.

All initial sessions begin as in-person.

Technology can be helpful in supporting the learning process, not replacing it.

(This does not apply to students who have unique learning needs that require technology aids.)

Confidence

I teach with a growth mindset, meaning anyone can learn math and have fun learning!

While Homework Help is important, I do not spoon feed homework answers to students.

My main goal is to develop confidence and ability, teaching to increase conceptual understanding and procedural fluency.

Strong Foundations

My goal is for learners to feel confident thinking with numbers, not just memorizing facts and formulas. Some examples include:

  • Mental math with addition and multiplication

  • Working with fractions

  • Using patterns and shapes

  • Preparing for and establishing foundations in Algebra

  • Applying algebraic equations to word problems
